Yukon

Yukon: Wild Beauty - Passport to the World

For several people, the Yukon represents the end of the world, with its pure, natural untouched wilderness stretching all the way to the Arctic Circle. And they’re right! Home of the Gold Rush, the Yukon is home to many other natural treasures. Seventeen of the highest peaks in Canada, as well as the largest ice fields outside of the ice caps, can be found within its borders, at the Kluane National Park and Reserve. Add to that the amazing midnight sun, Aurora Borealis that stretch as far as the eye can see, and a unique wildlife, these all combine to make this the outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Its origins are still solidly anchored in its history and its vibrant communities continue to forge this land, a land that is even bigger than nature, in ways that defy the imagination.

Utah

Utah: Natural Contrasts - Passport to the World

Utah is renowned for its contrasting geological diversity, delighting tourists and sports enthusiasts, from skiers to mountain biking aficionados. On one side, snow-capped mountains surround the capital, Salt Lake City, host of the 2002 Winter Olympics. On the other side, arid deserts give way to rock formations, spectacularly shaped by time. The Arches and Bryce Canyon National Parks are just two examples of this surreal canvas, peppered by colourful limestone spires, with hues of ochre, pink and white. Who amongst us hasn’t dreamed of the American Wild West, as seen from Monument Valley? Utah’s geological diversity is in contrast with its people, who for the most part live in urban areas and share a Mormon faith.

Châteaux of the Loire

Châteaux of the Loire: Royal Visit – Passport to the World

The Loire Valley has been the playground of kings and noblemen for three centuries, spurring the construction of countless castles, each more opulent than the last. The result: a collection of architectural treasures spread across a beautiful natural setting. Chambord is certainly the best example of this excess, with 77 stairwells and 282 chimneys. Chenonceau, nicknamed the “Château des Dames” (Castle of the Ladies), is notable for its location, spanning the Cher River, and for its magnificent gardens. The region also hosts imposing medieval cities, a majestic religious history marked by cathedrals and abbeys, as well as remarkable cuisine and vineyards. Come live like royalty on a trip into the heart of history!
