The Hitman's Bodyguard, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Valerian, and more make our weekly movie news

A lot of new trailers, clips, and exciting news in general dropped this week! We've got it all coming at you to start the weekend off right.

We got some sad news this week, Sir Roger Moore passed away. Before we dive into our usual roundup of movie news we must acknowledge Roger Moore's illustrious career in Hollywood. He played the iconic character of James Bond 7 times between 1973 and 1985 (Live and Let Die, The Spy who Loved Me, and Moonraker being the most notable). He was the title character in the successful TV series The Saint. Many may also know him from the comedy The Cannonball Run. His career lasted decades but came to an end today when he passed away. The actor was 89. Most will remember him as James Bond so we raise our drinks, shaken not stirred, to you, Mr. Moore.

Hold on to your butts! A new trailer just dropped for The Hitman's Bodyguard and we can already tell this one is going to be a hilarious, wild, and raunchy ride. The world's top bodyguard (Ryan Reynolds) gets a new client, a hit man (Samuel L. Jackson) who must testify at the International Court of Justice. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time.

Check out the trailer below and see The Hitman's Bodyguard when it hits Cineplex theatres on August 18th! WARNING! This one's Red Band.

A brand new trailer dropped for Spider-Man: Homecoming this week! There's some brand new footage in this one to get you pumped for the webcrawler's big screen reboot! The trailer also gives cool insight into what's been added to Spidey's arsenal of gear. We're sorely hoping the training wheels come off... (You'll know what we mean after watching the trailer...)

We love that Peter Parker is working with The Avengers, and we loved what we saw of him in Captain America: Civil War last year. Homecoming looks like a fun, action-packed Spider-Man film that seems to be the most true to the character out of all of the other big screen adaptations.

Check out the trailer below. Be sure to see Spider-Man: Homecoming when it hits Cineplex theatres on July 7th, 2017!

The final Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets trailer dropped this week! Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne play special operatives who must race to identify the marauding menace that is threatening their planet. It’s directed by Luc Besson who has brought us other sci-fi classics such as The Fifth Element and Lucy.

Check out the trailer below and see Valerian when it hits Cineplex theatres on July 21st!

A new trailer dropped for Despicable Me 3 this week! Steve Carell is back as the evil villain turned “good” secret agent Gru. Leaving his life of crime in the past, Gru (Carell) and his new wife Lucy (Kristen Wiig) are tasked with taking down a new enemy. Although he may not seem intimidating, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) is a moonwalking – and amazingly rhythmic – criminal who is obsessed with world domination.

Check out the trailer below and see Despicable Me 3 in Cineplex theatres on June 30th!

Baby Driver dropped a new featurette this week in which Ansel Elgort introduces us to his character, Baby. This film is from Edgar Wright, the writer/director of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Enough said, right? It's about a young getaway driver (Elgort), who after being coerced into working for a crime boss, finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

This feels like Drive but for teens! It also has a great cast including Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Lily James, and Jon Bernthal. Check out the clip below and see Baby Driver when it hits Cineplex theatres June 28th!

With the release of The Mummy coming on June 9th, Universal has announced a shared monster movie universe or as they call it the "Dark Universe". This universe will include rebooted versions of original monster movies including Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Van Helsing, and the Invisible Man. Universal has already cast Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man and Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster in upcoming remakes.
