It's March, and blockbuster season is officially beginning! There are a number of huge titles this month that we have been highly anticipating for ages. The new Wolverine film, Emma Watson as Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and a high dose of nostalgia with Power Rangers are just a few. Get excited!

X-Men and Wolverine fans can expect something very different with Logan. It's being said that this will be Hugh Jackman's last appearance in his most iconic role, and from what we have heard, he's going out with a bang. The first X-Men film to earn an R-Rating, Logan is apparently super violent, super dark, and quite possibly one of the best comic book films ever made. We can barely wait another day to see this gritty installment in the franchise.

Before I Fall

From what we can tell, Before I Fall looks like a dark, teenage spin on Groundhog Day. Zoey Deutch (Why Him), plays Samantha Kingston, a young woman with a charmed life who suddenly finds herself living the same day over and over, unraveling a truth that her perfect life wasn't as amazing as it seemed. The teen mystery film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name, and early strong reviews are convincing us that this is going to be a sleeper hit.

I, Daniel Blake

Release Date: March 3rd, 2017

For Fans of: Social issues, Palm D'ors, British film 

See it With: Your parents

I, Daniel Blake won the Palm D'or at this years Cannes Film Festival, which is one of the highest honours a film can receive, and which is reason enough to check out this film. The story follows Daniel. a 59-year-old carpenter who is recovering from a heart attack and who seeks state welfare. As he navigates the system, he befriends a single mother in a similar situation. This film will speak to the masses as it depicts a situation that many of us may have experienced in one way or another (who hasn't dealt with government red tape, right?). It's a vital and relevant film that any cinephile should be sure to catch.


Kong: Skull Island

See it With: Anyone and everyone

See it In: IMAX 3D

Look at this cast: Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly....essentially, this is reason enough to see Kong: Skull Island. Nevermind that it's a new Kong film, set in the 1970s, with an epic Hawaiian backdrop and what we can already tell will be stunning visual effects. This is the monster film that we want right now, and frankly, it's also the monster film that we need.

This adorable Canadian animated film warmed our hearts at the Toronto International Film Festival, and now that it's receiving a limited release, we're urging you to check it out. About Rosie Ming, a young Canadian with Chinese and Persian parents who is accepted into a poetry festival in Iran, Window Horses is a unique and heart-warming film equally about the power of expression through art, and of discovering home.

Ever since it was first announced, we have been patiently awaiting the arrival of a live action Beauty and the Beast movie starring an incredibly stacked cast, from Emma Watson and Dan Stevens to Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, and Josh Gad. It looks like it'll be a scene-by-scene remake of the original Disney classic, which is still one of the best movies ever made. We're so excited for the nostalgia, but also for the revival that this fresh version will bring to this magical and timeless story.

Danny Boyle's first Trainspotting film is something of a classic, so to get a sequel with the original cast and director twenty years later is pretty exciting. The first film followed a close knit group of friends and their struggles with drugs in Edinburgh, and now we're about to find out what exactly happened to those kooky characters twenty years (!!) later. Ewan McGregor and the gang are all back for the ride.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers

The second Goon film is the feature directorial debut from Canadian actor Jay Baruchel, who many would know from "Popular Mechanics for Kids", or his current television show "Man Seeking Woman". Following hockey player Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) who is facing the possibility of retirement as a rival player gives him reason to prove himself in the league. Just like the first Goon, this looks to be a lot of fun and features a great cast of talent from both Canada and America, truly is a stellar line-up of some of our countries' best and most underrated stars.

Six astronauts try to investigate the possibility of extra-terrestrial life on Mars, and it leads to an epic discovery bigger than they could have ever imagined. Yeah, we're in.

Our childhood dreams are coming true with an epic, spectacular, Power Rangers movie. Expectations are high for this one, which follows five teenage kids who essentially get super powers (and pretty awesome, colourful suits) and are tasked with saving the world. There will be a lot of new faces in this one, but they're also joined by cool cast members like Bryan Cranston, Bill Hader and Elizabeth Banks.

The Zookeeper's Wife is the incredible true story of the Zabinskis, who were the keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, and who hid and saved hundreds of Jewish people during World War 2. It's a war story that has yet to be told on the big screen, and is bound to feature a powerhouse performance from Jessica Chastain. It also features Daniel Bruhl, who is just so good as an evil character. Expect lots of tears, lots of animals, and a moving story of bravery.

Olivier Assayas is one of the most beloved filmmakers working today, and his latest film Personal Shopper is something of an achievement. Kristen Stewart takes the leading role as Maureen, the personal shopper to a famous fashion model and designer. Constantly manipulating the audience, Personal Shopper is much more than it appears on the surface. It's an unconventional ghost story that effectively plants you into Maureen's perspective, as the events unfolding around her are a constant blur of reality and the willingness to believe in the supernatural.

The Boss Baby

With a voice cast including Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel. The Boss Baby definitely has some promise. It follows a baby who dresses like a boss, who teams up with his 7-year-old brother, to find out why more families puppies are becoming more popular than babies. The first trailer looks pretty hilarious, and we can't really resist talking babies.

Ghost in the Shell

Scarlett Johansson stars in this adaptation of the popular anime and manga series, proving once again that she is the go-to action star of our generation. Here she plays a cyborg, The Major, who is part of an anti-cyber terrorism group called Section 9, who realizes that her life has been stolen. Ghost in the Shell promises stunning visuals and an epic new cinematic universe.
