Synopsis

Few things on Earth are as miraculous and vital as seeds - worshipped and treasured since the dawn of humankind. This documentary follows passionate seed keepers who are protecting our 12,000 year-old food legacy. In the last century, 94% of our seed varieties have disappeared. A cadre of ten agrichemical companies, including Syngenta, Bayer, and Monsanto, controls over two-thirds of the global seed market, reaping unprecedented profits. Genetically modified crops dominate farmers' fields and dinner tables around the world. For eons, cultures around the world have believed they are our birthright, but today they are becoming private property held in corporate hands. Farmers, scientists, lawyers, and indigenous seed keepers fight a David and Goliath battle to defend the future of our food and rekindle a lost connection to our most treasured resource and revive a culture connected to seeds.
