Synopsis

This film is composed of thirteen vignettes that incorporate manifestos from the art movements of the 20th century and explores their political significance. Cate Blanchett portrays thirteen different people, from an anchorwoman to a homeless man, weaving together history's most impassioned artist statements. The film draws on the writings of Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxus artists, Suprematists, Situationists and other artist groups and merges the ideas of Claes Oldenburg, Yvonne Rainer, Kazimir Malevich, Andre Breton, Sturtevant, Sol Le Witt, Jim Jarmusch and many others.
